About me

Kylie is an aboriginal name meaning ‘boomerang’.

People with this name have a deep inner desire for travel and adventure, and want to set their own pace in life without being governed by tradition.

If you had one sentence to describe me, that would be it!

My mum says she named me Kylie because if I ever leave, I will always come back!

I love travelling to new places, teetering in the unknown, feeling lost in an unfamiliar place and then finding my way, escaping comfort zones and the general feeling of freedom. I love how small travel makes you feel and therefore, how small and insignificant your problems become as a result of this revelation. I know I am not alone in this. I was bitten by the travel bug when I was 19 and I have been infected ever since.

I’m always getting asked for tips and advice on places I’ve been! A few of my friends suggested that I start a travel blog!  I read a lot of travel blogs and books. I am the type of person that reads lonely planet guide books cover to cover before a trip.

I work full time as an Architectural Technologist, in Dublin, Ireland (originally from Bangor, Northern Ireland). I try to travel as much as my schedule (and funds) will allow. I am also making a conscious effort to travel within my own country, and make the most of the amazing sights on my doorstep. I work on my travel blog on my lunch breaks and whenever I can find an hour here and there! At the moment that is working out at one blog a month! I will try to keep that pace!

I have recently become vegetarian/vegan, so I will be including great veggie food spots and travel tips in my blogs from now on, if that’s your thing!

I am also addicted to yoga, and I intend to blog about yoga retreats and yoga spots I have tried and tested.

I’ve been an Eco-warrior as long as I can remember. I used to obsess over recycling paper and saving the trees as a young child. I am still passionate about it to this day. I can’t disconnect my love of travel and my love of the planet. They go hand in hand. I can’t enjoy one without the other. Therefore, I believe it’s important to be more Eco-conscious in our travel decisions and in in life in general. I will include Eco-warrior/responsible travel tips and guides in my blog.

I hope you find my blog useful! I hope it makes your trips and adventures easier and more fun! If you have any questions or suggestions please comment on my blogs and let me know!

  1. I am so grateful for this article you’ve provided here. I have really been looking for a good traveler’s blog as good as yours. I must say, you’ve really made my day and I would definitely be revisiting your site for valuable information. I also think you should see an article i wrote about zamob and give me some feedback.
